Android Developer Days 2014 (English)

Android Developer Days(ADD) is a technologic event which takes place in METU(ODTU) on 16 - 17  May. The event is being organized for the 3rd time by Google Developer Group (GDG) Ankara, GDG Istanbul, GDG Eskisehir, GDG Konya, METU IEEE and a lot more GDG’s from outside of Turkey with the helps of Droidcon and METU Teknokent.

ADD is an open event in which is shared; mobile, sever, web and sofware technologic news/improvements. Anyone and any firm who wants to join is welcomed. There won't be only conferences but also hackathons, panels, workshops and fun activities.Here is a photo of the summary of the last years event;

Anyone can join to this event so even if you are just a regular guy who has an iterest in technology but you don’t know much about it don’t even think twice just come along, you will have a lot of fun and at the same time you will learn some new stuff. You will have the oportunity to meet new people and improve your knowledge.

ADD which has many speakers from a lot of countries is expanding every year, not only in Turkey but also in the foreign countries. Therefore some of the conferences will be in english and some in turkish but in the two main halls will be simultaneous translation from turkish to english and from english to turkish. I think this is great, because by this way we will be able to share the knowledge and experiences of all of the techmakers from the world.

There are some small events that have already started. These are;

Mobile Hackathon;
Mobile Hackathon is a contest in which you can develope applications for fields like Wearables, Internet of Thing, Smart Cities or whatever you want and you can do it by using these platforms; Android, IOS, Windows Phone etc. So basicly the application field and the platform you want to use is indipendent. The contest will take place in METU CCC in 16.05.2014 at 13.30 to 17.05.2014 at 13.30. Within these 24 hours foods and drinks will be provided by sponsors. You can win suprise gifts and meet new people by joining. Here is the link for more information and registration;

Indir.com Application Awards;
Indir.com is making a contest about mobile applications between Feb 4 – April 15. You can join by yourself or as a team of 3. Anyone who want can join. Contestants can join with their application which is made in 2014. After you upload your application in Google Play or App Store you can fill the registration form. The voting will start in April 18 and it will be open to public, in April 30 the first 10 projects will be anounced and the jury will judge them. The projects that will be in the first 3 will be anounced in ADD. The rewards for the first 3 are; vacation, money, SEO management, advertise, Lab for UX tests and application displaying from indir.com. Here is the link for more information and registration;

Another subject is Accomodation. You can stay in hotels nearby or in the METU Guest House. Beside these here are a few places; Tedaş Guest House, Karayolları Social Facilities, Başkent Teacherage. If you want to stay in a hotel you can check the ‘’Venue’’ section from the site, there are some tips about it. For Transportation; you don’t have to warry about this because Ankara (the city that the event will take place) is a major city and has a lot of options. If you are coming by Train you can use the subway or the bus that goes to Kızılay, after that use the minibus to come to METU. If you are coming by Plane there are choises like Belko( Costs: 5.5 TL) or Havas(Costs: 10 TL), these are buses that are in the airport and takes you to Kızılay and then use the minibus to come to METU. Even if you get lost no need to warry METU is a well known place in Ankara but of course tell the people it’s turkish name ‘’ODTU’’ and they can direct you.
